Charleston, Illinois

Charleston is a county seat rich in the history of Abraham Lincoln and features a balance of industrial, agricultural, educational and cultural opportunity. We are home to the Lincoln Log Cabin, the 5 Mile house, as well as the Lincoln Douglas Debate Center. Charleston is also home to Eastern Illinois University that offers variety of sporting events as well as concerts, plays, and festivals. Lake Charleston and Fox Ridge boasts beautiful fishing, hiking, kayaking and biking. The Charleston Square has an assortment local owned shops to explore with a mixture of restaurants throughout town. One of our other claims to fame is located nearby in Ashmore; the Ashmore Estates, which has appeared on the Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures TV shows.
