March is here! As we welcome the new month, we’re doing something special for our March Newsletter—a fun twist on the traditional “bucket list.” This month, we’re highlighting the incredible milestones our residents have checked off their own lists!

From traveling to dream destinations to accomplishing personal goals, our residents have experienced some truly unforgettable adventures! We’re thrilled to highlight these achievements and the joy they’ve brought to our residents’ lives.

Lisa | Bradenton on 14th

Lisa has dreamed of owning a horse since childhood. By 23, she bought her first horse and began competing, later turning her passion into a full-scale venture with 162 acres and a 30-stall barn. Now, while facing cancer, she’s embraced another love—art—teaching herself through YouTube videos to draw and paint the horses she adores.

Mary W. | Rantoul

Mary has checked off some incredible destinations from her bucket list, including visiting Niagara Falls with her sister and mother! She’s also had the chance to explore New York and Washington, D.C., making unforgettable memories along the way.

Tookie | Mt. Carmel

Tookie’s bucket list wish was to visit Charlotte and Chicago, where her granddaughters live, so she could picture their homes in her heart even when she could no longer travel. Fulfilling this dream brought her a deep sense of peace. Now, her heart is truly settled, cherishing those memories.

JaneAnn | Collinsville

Traveling was a dream on JaneAnn’s bucket list, and she made it a reality by exploring both Europe and Asia. Her journeys took her to breathtaking destinations, where she immersed herself in new cultures and unforgettable experiences.

Jill | Morton Assisted Living

For Jill Kaufman, her bucket list wasn’t about travel or adventure—it was about determination and ambition. From a young age, she set an extraordinary goal: earning her college degree in just three years. While most take four or more, Jill fast-tracked her education and achieved her dream, becoming a teacher at just 20 years old!

Gus | Bradenton on 14th

Gus’s life goal is to mentor the youth and show that hard work can take you anywhere. After growing up without an opportunity for education in wartime Europe, he emigrated to America, served in the military fighting in Korea, and went on to earn a Ph.D. As a teacher, his proudest achievement was leading a 6-week student trip to Germany, inspiring young minds—a true bucket list moment.

Odena | Brazil

Odena has already checked off some amazing goals, including learning to fly a small plane and spending more time around people. Next on her bucket list? Attending her granddaughter’s wedding in California!

Betty D. | Washington Assisted Living

Betty and her late husband Bobby accomplished many things on their bucket list, with some of the most memorable being a visit to Monument Valley, the stunning Red Rock formations, and a trip to the Roy Rogers Museum in Victorville, California.

Sharon | Brazil

Sharon has a few exciting goals left on her bucket list: she’s aspiring to return to Florida, welcome another grandbaby, and make a trip back to Ireland!

Mary Lou H. | Rantoul

Mary Lou fondly remembers traveling to England—her favorite destination—along with France, Switzerland, and Germany, all shared with her beloved husband before his passing.

Char | Brazil

Char’s bucket list includes traveling more, having a celebration with all her children and their families, and saving enough money to visit the places she’s always wanted to explore. She’s got some exciting goals ahead!

Shirley | Collinsville

Shirley’s bucket list goal was to take her grandchildren to Disney World, and she was able to create many wonderful memories with them during the trip.

Mary Lou A. | Rantoul

Mary Lou has enjoyed traveling to Germany and Switzerland with her sister, but her greatest joy comes from teaching countless children how to play the piano—a truly meaningful accomplishment!

Margo | Brazil

Margo has accomplished what many only dream to! She has visited almost all 50 states, just excluding Alaska!

Laverne | Mt. Carmel

Laverne has a beautiful perspective on her bucket list—her one and only wish is to reach heaven and reunite with the loved ones who have gone before her. With a heart of anticipation, she looks forward to that joyful reunion.

Anita D. | Rantoul

Anita fulfilled her heart’s desire by visiting her home country of Italy!

Sarah | Brazil

Sarah shares her exciting bucket list goals: getting her nails done more often, visiting Longmont, CO, exploring Dunedin, FL, experiencing Amish country, and, one day, traveling to Australia. She’s got some great adventures ahead!

Tammy B. | Rantoul

Tammy had one special wish on her bucket list—becoming a grandmother—and she’s happily checked it off!
